The Six Big Canadian Bank Stocks

For many years our choice for the No. 1 sector in Canada has been, and still is, the big bank stocks.

Iain, it really does not matter what the market thinks of oil stocks. The reality is there is money pouring out of the tar sands and the money has to go somewhere. My guess is the money is going into the Canadian banking system.

For my choice of banks, I would prefer the one that is the least tied to the Federal Reserve and the declining greenback, while having a good 1 and 5 year record of returns to stockholders.

For me, my banks of choice would be NA followed by BNS. Personally, I have had a great run with RY, but I would look for an opportunity to switch out into NA and BNS.
