Canadian bank stocks ?

In our first issue of 2006 we are going to do an analysis of the big six bank stocks, and rate each of them.

Over the past several years the bank sector has been our favourite sector. Have the bank stocks now got to the point where they are no longer undervalued? To get all of our comments in our next Report just email us at fraserratings@yahoo.ca  The Report is free.

Spectacular!

In our Report of April 29/05 we showed our list of the Dow Jones Industrial Average stocks arranged in our order of rating with the topicks at the top, and there were ten of them.

These ten topicks in the period from April 29 to Dec.23/05 did three times better than the Dow viz. up 22% versus just 7% for all the Dow stocks. Can't pick 'em much better than that. To see the five leading top picks just email us at fraserratings@yahoo.ca

It is hard to believe !

One of the most undervalued stocks on the TSE is Telus ($44.60).

And yet as we show in our current Report ( fraserratings@yahoo.ca ) the stock has been going down for 4 months, so the stock is now excessively undervalued

In this same Report we show a  22 year chart for the pri.ce of crude oil which is a real eye opener.

Election is a bit of a joke

The facts are that of the 308 total seats in the House of Commons 75 are located in Quebec. The Conservatives will win no seats in Quebec. In order to get a majority the Conservatives would have to win 67% of the remaining 233 seats; it won't happen. It is also just about impossible to get more seats than the Liberals when they start 0 for 75.

Civil War in Iraq

What is going on in Iraq meets the definition of a civil war. Two of the probable consequences are that it adds to the upward pressure on both gold and oil prices.

For continuing observations and comments on both gold and oil stocks send us an email at fraserratings@yahoo.ca

Iraq----Oil----Gold

Our view is that President Bush's aim to have a working democratic government in Iraq is admirable, but most likely unachievable. What is more likely is more chaos and mayhem. A civil war is also possible. The effect of all this on oil and gold is to put further upside pressure on both these commodities.
